Ingredients
  • 1/2 onion, sliced .
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes .
  • 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce .
  • 2 tbsps olive oil .
  • 1 lb ditalini .
  • salt & pepper .
  • grated cheese, for passing .
  • 3-4 garlic cloves, sliced .
  • 1 (9 oz) box frozen green peas

Directions
  • Step #1 Put a medium pot of water on the stove over high heat for pasta.
  • Step #2 When water comes to a boil, add salt to water & cook pasta to al dente, with a bite to it.
  • Step #3 In a large, preheated over moderate heat, onion, cook garlic, deep skillet, & crushed pepper in extra-virgin olive oil for 3 to 4 mins.
  • Step #4 Add tomato sauce to the pan.
  • Step #5 When tomatoes come to a bubble, reduce heat to simmer.
  • Step #6 Spice up sauce with salt & pepper.
  • Step #7 When pasta is cooked to al dente, drain well & set near stove.
  • Step #8 Add the green peas to the sauce.
  • Step #9 Stir to mix & heat peas through.
  • Step #10 Add pasta to sauce.
  • Step #11 Keep turning pasta in sauce until pasta begins to absorb sauce, about 1 min.
  • Step #12 Transfer pasta to a serving platter.
