Creamed Onions Recipe

Ingredients
  • 6 large onions, sliced
  • 1 c butter
  • 2 c milk
  • 1/2 tsp white pepper
  • 2 tsps salt
  • 2 tsps all-purpose flour

Directions
  • Step #1 In a large skillet or Dutch oven, saute onions in butter until tender & golden brown, about 25 mins.
  • Step #2 Remove with a slotted spoon.
  • Step #3 Add flour, salt & pepper to skillet; stir until smooth.
  • Step #4 Gradually stir in the milk until mixed.
  • Step #5 Bring to a boil; cook & stir for 2 mins or until thickened.
  • Step #6 Reduce heat to medium.
  • Step #7 Return onions to the pan; heat through.
