Chinese Jasmine Rice Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 c basmati rice .
  • 1 medium red bell pepper, de-seeded & finely sliced .
  • 3-4 stalks green onions, finely sliced .
  • 1 medium yellow bell pepper, de-seeded & finely sliced .
  • 1 small onion, finely sliced .
  • 20-25 jasmine fresh edible flowers .
  • salt .
  • 1 tbsp oil

Directions
  • Step #1 Soak rice in 4 c of water for 30 mins & then drain.
  • Step #2 Boil 5 c of water with salt.
  • Step #3 Fold in the rice.
  • Step #4 After sometime, mix jasmine flowers in a round sachet & add to the water.
  • Step #5 Let the flowers soak in the water containing the rice for a few mins(i.
  • Step #6 e, until the rice is half cooked).
  • Step #7 When the rice is half cooked, remove the sachet of flowers, drain the water & keep the rice aside.
  • Step #8 Now heat oil in a non-stick pan.
  • Step #9 Toss in the onion & saute for a few mins.
  • Step #10 Add both bell peppers & saute for a few mins.
  • Step #11 Fold in the rice & carefully stir this to mix.
  • Step #12 Add salt & spring onion greens.
  • Step #13 Mix well, cover & cook till the rice is fully cooked but the grains are separate.
  • Step #14 Serve hot.
