Step #1 To make the brownies, preheat your trusty oven to 325°F & butter a 15-1/2 x 10-1/2 x 2-inch baking pan.
Step #2 In a small saucepan, melt the butter & chocolate over low heat/flame; cool.
Step #3 Onto a piece of waxed paper, sift the flour & salt, then toss with the nuts.
Step #4 In a large bowl, with a mixer at high speed, beat the eggs just until foamy.
Step #5 Add the sugar, then the cooled chocolate mixture & vanilla, & beat just until mixed.
Step #6 Stir in the flour mixture just until it disappears, then spoon into the prepared pan.
Step #7 Bake for 35 mins, or just until set & a toothpick inserted in the center comes out almost clean.
Step #8 Let cool completely in the pan before frosting.
Step #9 To make the frosting, butter, heat the chocolate, & 1/3 c of milk in a small saucepan over low heat/flame until chocolate melts, stirring frequently.
Step #10 Cool to lukewarm, then pour this into a medium bowl.
Step #11 Stir in sugar & vanilla.
Step #12 Using a mixer, beat at high speed for about 10 mins, or until thick enough to spread.
Step #13 If frosting is too thick to your liking, you can add between 1-3 tbsps more milk & beat again to desired consistancy.
Step #14 Frost completely cooled brownies in pan.
Step #15 Refrigerate until ready to serve, then cut into 1-inch chunks & remove this from pan.
