Chocolate Chipcebox Cookies Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 c finely sliced pecans
  • 1/4 c sugar
  • 2/3 c all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 c packed brown sugar
  • 3 tbsps butter (no substitutes), softened
  • 1/4 c miniature semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tbsps shortening

Directions
  • Step #1 In a small mixing bowl, cream the butter, shortening & sugars.
  • Step #2 Beat in egg yolk & vanilla; mix well.
  • Step #3 Combine the flour, baking soda & salt; slowly add to creamed mixture & mix well.
  • Step #4 Stir in chips & pecans.
  • Step #5 Shape into a 9-in.
  • Step #6 roll; wrap in plastic wrap.
  • Step #7 Refrigerate overnight.
  • Step #8 Unwrap & cut into 1/4-in.
  • Step #9 slices.
  • Step #10 Place 2 in.
  • Step #11 apart on ungreased baking sheets.
  • Step #12 Bake at 375 degrees F for 8-10 mins or until edges are golden brown.
  • Step #13 Cool for 2 mins before removing to wire racks to cool completely.
