Creamy Smoked Salmon Pasta Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c grated Romano cheese
  • 6 tbsps butter
  • 1 c frozen green peas, thawed & drained
  • 2 tbsps all-purpose flour
  • 2 c skim milk
  • 10 oz smoked salmon, sliced
  • 1/2 c canned mushrooms, drained
  • 1 (16 oz) package penne pasta
  • 1/2 onion, finely sliced
  • 2 tsps garlic powder

Directions
  • Step #1 Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil.
  • Step #2 Add pasta & cook for 8 to 10 mins or until al dente; drain.
  • Step #3 Melt butter in a large skillet over med-heat/flame.
  • Step #4 Saute onion in butter until tender.
  • Step #5 Stir flour & garlic powder into the butter & onions.
  • Step #6 Gradually stir in the milk.
  • Step #7 Heat to just below boiling point, & then slowly stir in the cheese until the sauce is smooth.
  • Step #8 Stir in peas & mushrooms.
  • Step #9 , & cook over low heat/flame for 4 mins.
  • Step #10 Toss in smoked salmon, & cook for 2 more mins.
  • Step #11 Serve over pasta.
