Chicken And Vegetable Pakoras
Ingredients
1/2 head cauliflower florets
3/4 c water
1/2 tsp ground turmeric
1 quart oil for deep frying
2 onions, sliced into rings
1/2 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp ground coriander
1 c chickpea flour
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 tsp salt
Directions
Step #1 Sift the chickpea flour into a medium bowl.
Step #2 Mix in the coriander, salt, turmeric, chili powder, garam masala & garlic.
Step #3 Make a well in the center of the flower.
Step #4 Gradually pour the water into the well & mix to form a thick, smooth batter.
Step #5 Over medium high heat in a large, heavy saucepan, heat the oil to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Step #6 Coat the cauliflower & onions in the batter & fry them in small batches until golden brown, about 4 to 5 mins.
Step #7 Drain on paper towels before serving.
