Crab Savannah Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 lb large lump crabmeat (I use canned.) .
  • 1 c mushrooms, sliced .
  • 1/2 c sherry wine .
  • 1/4 c flour .
  • 2 tbsps pimiento .
  • 1 small white onion .
  • 1 c cheddar cheese, grated .
  • 1 dash salt .
  • 1 dash white pepper .
  • 1/2 lb butter .
  • 2 c half-and-half .
  • 1 bell pepper

Directions
  • Step #1 In a large skillet, saute pepper & onion in butter; add mushrooms & flour.
  • Step #2 Heat half-and-half separately & add slowly to keep consistency smooth.
  • Step #3 Stir in pimiento, salt & white pepper to taste.
  • Step #4 Pick through the crab & remove any shells or foreign objects.
  • Step #5 Add the crab meat & sherry to sauce & heat through.
  • Step #6 Scoop into individual ramekins or custard c.
  • Step #7 Top with grated cheese & put under oven broiler for a few mins to brown.
