Chocolate Apricot Bread Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 2/3 c bread flour
  • 3 tbsps dry milk powder
  • 1 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/2 tbsp canola oil
  • 1/3 c oat flour
  • 3 tbsps unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract
  • 2 tbsps chocolate syrup
  • 3 tbsps white sugar
  • 1/4 c dried apricots

Directions
  • Step #1 Place all ingredients (except apricots) in the pan of the bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Step #2 Select dough cycle; press Start.
  • Step #3 At the end of dough cycle, turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface, cover & let rest 10 mins.
  • Step #4 Roll dough out into a rectangle, sprinkle apricots on top, & roll up into a loaf shape.
  • Step #5 Place into a greased 9x5 inch loaf pan, cover & let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hr.
  • Step #6 Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Step #7 Slash the risen loaf down the center with a sharp knife.
  • Step #8 Bake in the preheated oven for 30 mins, or until bottom of the loaf sounds hollow when tapped.
  • Step #9 Remove from pan & place loaf on a wire rack to completely cool.
