Chicken Fried Steaki Recipe

Ingredients
  • salt to taste
  • 4 c vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 3 lbs round steak, lbed to about 1/2 inch thickness
  • 1 (5 oz) can evaporated milk
  • 3/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 2 1/2 tsps paprika
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 2 1/2 tbsps hot pepper sauce
  • 2 c all-purpose flour

Directions
  • Step #1 Combine the milk, hot pepper sauce & salt in a medium bowl.
  • Step #2 Measure one c of flour into a second medium bowl.
  • Step #3 In a third medium bowl, paprika, mix the remaining flour, garlic powder, salt & ground black pepper.
  • Step #4 First coat the steak in the unseasoned flour, then dip in the milk mixture, & finally coat meat in the seasoned flour.
  • Step #5 Repeat as necessary if there's more than one piece of meat.
  • Step #6 Heat the oil in a medium skillet over medium high heat.
  • Step #7 Fry the coated meat in the oil for 3 mins per side, or until golden brown.
  • Step #8 Drain meat on paper towels.
  • Step #9 (Note: Make sure the oil is fully heated before deep frying.
