Lande's Southern Pecan Pie Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 (9 inch) ready-made pie crusts, in 9 in. deep pan .
  • 2 oz dark corn syrup, for coating .
  • 1 tsp flour .
  • 3 eggs .
  • 1 c pecan halves .
  • 1/3 c packed brown sugar .
  • 2 oz honey .
  • 3/4 c sugar .
  • 1 oz molasses (can sub. with corn syrup depending on your taste) .
  • 1 c corn syrup (Mix 1/2 dark & 1/ light) .
  • 1 1/2 tbsps vanilla .
  • 1/2 c coarsley sliced pecans .
  • 1 tsp oz. butter, melted

Directions
  • Step #1 In saucepan boil sugar, honey & molasses (3-5 mins) , corn syrup, set aside to cool.
  • Step #2 In a bowl beat eggs,flour, vanilla & butter making sure there is no lumps.
  • Step #3 Add in half c pecans & stir in the warm syrup (leave about 2 oz.
  • Step #4 to coat pie mid baking).
  • Step #5 Pour mixture into pie crust.
  • Step #6 Top with remaning pecans(add some if you like).
  • Step #7 cover pie with foil wrap & put into preheated oven at 350 degrees for 20 mins.
  • Step #8 Take out of oven, uncover & coat top this with 2 oz.
  • Step #9 dark syrup.
  • Step #10 Coating used to seal pie & keep top from burning.
  • Step #11 Lay foil wrap over pie & put back in oven for 50 mins or until pie is firm.
  • Step #12 Revove & place on a cooling rack.
  • Step #13 Hint: place foil wrap under pie in over for spillage protection.
