Dilly Bread Ring Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tsps salt
  • 1/3 c sugar
  • 4 1/2 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/3 c warm water (110 degrees to 115 degrees)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsps minced chives
  • 2 tbsps minced fresh parsley
  • 1 c sour cream
  • 1/3 c warm milk (110 to 115 degrees F)
  • 1 tbsp dill weed
  • 6 tbsps butter or margarine, softened
  • 2 (.25 oz) packages active dry yeast

Directions
  • Step #1 In a mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water.
  • Step #2 Add milk, eggs, butter, sour cream, sugar, seasonings & 3 c flour.
  • Step #3 Beat on lowish speed for 30 seconds.
  • Step #4 Beat on high for 3 mins.
  • Step #5 Stir in remaining flour (batter will be sticky).
  • Step #6 Do not knead.
  • Step #7 Cover & let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hr.
  • Step #8 Stir dough down.
  • Step #9 Spoon into a greased 10-in.
  • Step #10 tube or fluted tube pan.
  • Step #11 Cover & let rise until nearly doubled, about 45 mins.
  • Step #12 Bake at 375 degrees F for 30-35 mins or until golden brown (cover loosely with foil if top browns too quickly).
  • Step #13 Cool for 10 mins before removing from pan to a wire rack.
