Easy Skillet Corned Beef And Cabbage Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 head green cabbage, coarsely sliced .
  • 4 slices bacon .
  • 8 oz deli corned beef, thinly sliced, then cut into strips .
  • salt & freshly ground black pepper, to taste if needed .
  • 4 tbsps butter

Directions
  • Step #1 Cook the bacon in large skillet over med-heat/flame until almost crisp.
  • Step #2 Remove the bacon from the pan & set aside.
  • Step #3 Melt the butter in the pan with the bacon grease.
  • Step #4 Add the cabbage, stirring well to coat the cabbage in fat.
  • Step #5 Add about 1/3 c water, & salt & pepper, to taste.
  • Step #6 Cover up pan with a lid, & cook over med-heat/flame for about 10-15 mins.
  • Step #7 Meanwhile, chop the bacon into small pieces & cut the thinly sliced deli corned beef into strips.
  • Step #8 Remove the lid from the pot, & scatter corned beef & sliced bacon over top of the cabbage.
  • Step #9 Cover up & cook this until desired doneness.
  • Step #10 I personally like a little bit of crunch left to the cabbage.
  • Step #11 You can serve this with your favorite mashed, baked or boiled potatoes as a side dish.
  • Step #12 I like to served steamed carrots with this too.
