Chinese Pepper Steak Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c apple juice
  • Hot cooked rice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 c sliced onion
  • 1/4 c cold water
  • 2 tbsps vegetable oil, divided
  • 2 c sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 3/4 lb boneless beef sirloin steak, cut into thin strips
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 1/2 c julienned green bell pepper
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

Directions
  • Step #1 In a wok or skillet, stir-fry green peppers & onion in 1 tbsp oil for 2-3 mins.
  • Step #2 Add mushrooms; stir-fry 1 min longer.
  • Step #3 Remove & keep warm.
  • Step #4 Spice up the beef with salt & pepper.
  • Step #5 In the same skillet, stir-fry the beef & garlic in remaining oil for 6-8 mins or until no longer pink; drain.
  • Step #6 Combine the cornstarch, apple juice & water until smooth; stir in theto the beef mixture.
  • Step #7 Bring to a boil; cook & stir for 1 mins or until thickened.
  • Step #8 Return the vegetables to the pan; heat through.
  • Step #9 Serve over the rice.
