Crunchy Granola (muesli) Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c sunflower seeds .
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional) .
  • 1/2 c butter .
  • 1/2 c raisins or other dried fruit (currants & sliced apricots are also good) .
  • 1/2 tsp salt .
  • 4 c rolled oats .
  • 1 c finely shredded coconut .
  • 1/2 tbsp milk .
  • 1/4 c sesame seeds .
  • 1/4-1/2 c honey (depending on your sweet tooth) .
  • 1 c wheat germ

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Step #2 Combine all the dry ingredients in the baking pan (first five items).
  • Step #3 Add raisins (or other dried fruits) after cooking.
  • Step #4 Heat the butter, honey, milk & salt in a small saucepan until all the butter melts.
  • Step #5 Dribble honey–butter mixture over dry ingredients, & mix well to moisten all the dry ingredients.
  • Step #6 Bake for 20-30 mins (depending on how hot your oven runs), stirring frequently.
  • Step #7 This can easily over-brown (burn), so keep an eye on it.
  • Step #8 Remove from oven & stir in the the raisins or other dried fruit.
  • Step #9 When cool, store this in an airtight container.
  • Step #10 It keeps very well.
