Choco Raspberry Bars Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 c semisweet chocolate chips
  • 8 oz raspberry preserves
  • 3/4 c white sugar
  • 2 1/4 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 c packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 c shortening
  • 1/2 c butter
  • 1 tsp baking soda

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Step #2 Grease the bottom & sides of 9x13 inch pan.
  • Step #3 Combine flour, baking soda & salt in a small bowl; set aside.
  • Step #4 In a large mixing bowl mix butter, white sugar, shortening, brown sugar & vanilla together until creamed.
  • Step #5 Stir in the eggs, one at a time.
  • Step #6 Blend flour mixture into sugar mixture.
  • Step #7 Fold in chocolate chips.
  • Step #8 Spread 2/3 of the dough mixture evenly in pan.
  • Step #9 Cover top this with 8 oz raspberry preserves.
  • Step #10 Dot remaining dough randomly over the jam.
  • Step #11 Bake in the center of the oven for 30 mins, or until done all the way through.
  • Step #12 Cool, cut, serve & enjoy!.
