Savannah Red Rice Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c water .
  • 1 c onions, sliced .
  • 2 tbsps vegan margarine (try Earth Balance) .
  • 1 c uncooked white rice .
  • 3 vegetable bouillon cubes .
  • 1 c tomato sauce .
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce .
  • 1 c bell peppers, sliced .
  • 1 c vegetarian sausages, sliced (try Tofurky, italian sausage flavor) .
  • 1 (14 1/2 oz) can crushed tomatoes with juice .
  • salt & pepper

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Step #2 In a saucepan melt the butter over med-heat/flame & saute the onion, pepper, & sausage until everything is lightly browned.
  • Step #3 Add the tomatoes, hot sauce, tomato sauce, water & bouillon cubes.
  • Step #4 Spice up the mix with salt & pepper as needed.
  • Step #5 Stir in the rice.
  • Step #6 Pour everything into a greased casserole dish & bake, uncovered, for 45 mins.
