Chocolate Covered Potato Chips Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 lb high quality milk chocolate, sliced
  • 8 c ridged potato chips

Directions
  • Step #1 Place about 3/4 of the chocolate into a heat safe bowl, & place over the top of a pan of simmering water.
  • Step #2 If you have a double boiler, use that.
  • Step #3 Heat, stirring every once in awhile until the chocolate has melted, then continue to heat the chocolate to 110 degrees F (43 degrees C), stirring every once in awhile.
  • Step #4 You may use a meat thermometer if your candy thermometer does not go that low.
  • Step #5 As soon as the melted chocolate reaches temperature, remove it from the heat, & stir in the the remaining sliced chocolate until melted.
  • Step #6 Continue stirring until the chocolate has cooled to 90 degrees F (32 degrees C).
  • Step #7 Touching a dab of chocolate to your lip will feel cool.
  • Step #8 Use tongs to dip potato chips one at a time into the chocolate.
  • Step #9 Place on waxed paper starting at the point farthest from you & working your way in so as not to drip on your finished chips.
  • Step #10 Cool until set.
  • Step #11 You may put in the fridge if you like.
