Marinara Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 onion, minced .
  • 2 tbsps fresh parsley, sliced .
  • 2 tbsps fresh oregano, sliced or 2 tsps dried oregano .
  • 1/4 tsp salt .
  • 1 c water .
  • 2 tbsps olive oil .
  • 2 (30 oz) cans italian whole tomatoes in puree .
  • 2 garlic cloves, sliced .
  • 1 tbsp butter .
  • 2 tbsps tomato paste .
  • 1/4 tsp pepper

Directions
  • Step #1 In a non reactive saucepan, melt butter with olive oil over med-heat/flame.
  • Step #2 Add onion & cook this until slightly translucent (2-3 mins.
  • Step #3 Stir in garlic & cook 1 min, being careful not to burn.
  • Step #4 Add tomato paste & stir this to heat.
  • Step #5 Stir in tomatoes with puree, parsley, water, oregano, salt & pepper.
  • Step #6 Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low & let simmer uncovered 30 mins.
