Cajun Sheet Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 4 tbsps cocoa .
  • 4 tbsps cocoa .
  • 1 tsp baking soda .
  • 1 c water .
  • 1 c butter .
  • 2 c flour .
  • ICING .
  • 1 tsp vanilla .
  • 6 tbsps milk .
  • 1 tsp vanilla .
  • 1 tsp cinnamon .
  • 1 (16 oz) box powdered sugar .
  • 1 c sliced nuts, if desired .
  • 1/2 c buttermilk .
  • 2 eggs .
  • 1/2 c butter .
  • 1 pinch salt .
  • 2 c sugar

Directions
  • Step #1 In a mixing bowl, mix flour & sugar.
  • Step #2 In sauce pan, bring to boil the butter, water & cocoa.
  • Step #3 Pour over the sugar & flour mixture.
  • Step #4 Add remaining ingred.
  • Step #5 Mix by hand, beating with an electric mixer will cause cake to be dry.
  • Step #6 Pour into sheet cake pan (9x13).
  • Step #7 Bake at 350 deg.
  • Step #8 for 20-25 min Test using toothpick -- Do not over cook.
  • Step #9 Ovens vary -- so be sure to test after 20 min.
  • Step #10 For frosting: In sauce pan melt butter, cocoa, milk -- add powdered sugar.
  • Step #11 Remove from heat add vanilla & nuts.
  • Step #12 Pour over very warm cake.
