Bacon, Lettuce And Tomato Bruschetta Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c leafy greens, sliced fine (I use romaine with the veiny middle cut out) .
  • 1/2 loaf French bread, cut into 1/4 inch slices .
  • 2 tbsps fresh basil leaves, minced .
  • 3-4 roma tomatoes, seeded sliced fine .
  • 1/4 tsp pepper .
  • 8-10 slices crisp bacon, cooked until crisp, crumbled (I used a whole package of bacon) .
  • 1/4 tsp salt .
  • 1/3 c olive oil .
  • 1 garlic clove, minced

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 400°F.
  • Step #2 In a bowl mix together topping ingredients set aside.
  • Step #3 Brush oil on both sides of bread slices.
  • Step #4 Place on baking sheet turn once, for 5-7 mins per side until crisp & golden brown (keep a close eye on bread it takes no time to burn!).
  • Step #5 When bread is golden brown remove this from oven & spoon about 1 tbsp (or more) on each toast.
  • Step #6 *For best flavor DO NOT make topping ahead of time.
  • Step #7 This tastes much better if you mix the topping ingredients together just before you serve it.
  • Step #8 *Also I'm just guessing the amount of servings this makes.
