Spicy French Toast (bombay Toast) Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 a small onion, sliced (1/3 c) .
  • more green chili peppers (optional) or chili powder, if desired (optional) .
  • 1 egg or 2 egg whites .
  • 1/2 tsp oil .
  • 1 pinch salt .
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed with knife blade .
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric .
  • 2 slices bread (doesn't have to be white) .
  • 1 pinch turmeric .
  • 1/2 tsp very finely minced green chili peppers .
  • 2 tbsps milk .
  • Optional .
  • 1/2 tsp oil (for cooking) .
  • salt & black pepper

Directions
  • Step #1 heat a saute pan on the stove with the oil on medium.
  • Step #2 Whisk together the milk, salt, egg (or whites), green chili, & turmeric In a large-ish shallow bowl.
  • Step #3 Dip the bread into the mixture.
  • Step #4 submerge both pieces of bread in at once & flip over once coated.
  • Step #5 Then, let sit in bowl to soak up all the egg.
  • Step #6 Gently transfer the soaked bread to the heated saute pan & take the bowl to the sink.
  • Step #7 Wash your hands with soap & get out a turner.
  • Step #8 Once you can smell the bread & it is golden brown, turn it over & brown the other side.
  • Step #9 Only for optional: Move the bread to a plate & add the other half tsp of oil.
  • Step #10 Add the garlic, chili, turmeric, & onions.
  • Step #11 (or other veggies).
  • Step #12 saute until the onion is softened & is translucent, but not browned.
  • Step #13 Turn of stove & top the hot bombay toast with the onions.
  • Step #14 This makes a healthy, tasty, & filling breakfast with some fruit.
