The Ultimate Cream Cheese Swirled Brownie Recipe

Ingredients
  • 4 oz unsweetened chocolate (I use Baker's) .
  • 1/2 c sugar .
  • 1 tsp salt .
  • 2 tbsps flour .
  • 1/3 c golden flavour Crisco .
  • 250 g light cream cheese (I use Philadelphia) .
  • 4 eggs .
  • 1 tsp vanilla .
  • BROWNIE .
  • 1 tsp baking powder .
  • 1 c flour .
  • 2/3 c golden flavour Crisco .
  • 2 eggs .
  • 2 c sugar .
  • 1 tsp vanilla .
  • CREAM CHEESE BATTER

Directions
  • Step #1 1.
  • Step #2 Preheat oven to 350°F Grease a 9x13-inch pan with Golden Flavour Crisco.
  • Step #3 Double this recipe to make three 9-inch pans.
  • Step #4 2.
  • Step #5 For cream cheese batter, cream Crisco, cream cheese, & sugar in medium-size bowl until smooth.
  • Step #6 Beat in eggs, flour, & vanilla thoroughly.
  • Step #7 3.
  • Step #8 For brownie, melt Crisco & chocolate in small saucepan over low heat/flame; stir until smooth.
  • Step #9 Remove from heat & pour this into a large mixing bowl.
  • Step #10 4.
  • Step #11 Add sugar, & vanilla, eggs, beating well.
  • Step #12 Combine flour, baking powder, & salt; stir in the to chocolate mixture.
  • Step #13 5.
  • Step #14 Spread half of brownie batter in pan.
  • Step #15 Spread cream cheese layer evenly on top.
  • Step #16 Drop remaining chocolate batter over cheese mixture, spreading carefully to cover.
  • Step #17 Swirl together carefully with tip of a knife.
  • Step #18 6.
  • Step #19 Bake for 25-30 mins or until top springs back when lightly touched.
  • Step #20 Do not overbake.
  • Step #21 Cool.
  • Step #22 7.
  • Step #23 Once the brownies have cooled in the pan a little while, you can cut them, but don't remove them from the pan yet! Let them sit for about 1 hr until they firm up.
  • Step #24 Then you can remove them from the pan without them getting all squished up.
  • Step #25 Also, these NEED to be frozen -- you can defrost them slightly or even eat them straight out of the freezer.
