Two Cheese Potato Gratin Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c butter .
  • 10 c yukon gold potatoes, sliced 1/8-inch thick (approx. 3 lbs) .
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard .
  • 1/2 c flour .
  • 1/2 tsp salt .
  • 3 c whole milk .
  • 2 c shredded cheddar cheese .
  • 2 c shredded gruyere cheese

Directions
  • Step #1 Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Step #2 In sauce pan melt butter.
  • Step #3 Stir in flour & whisk until smooth.
  • Step #4 Gradually stir in the milk.
  • Step #5 Heat to boiling, then reduce heat to low & cook for 5 mins, stirring frequently until thickened.
  • Step #6 Stir in mustard & salt.
  • Step #7 Coat a 9x13 casserole with cooking spray.
  • Step #8 Place 1/2 potatoes in pan slightly overlapping.
  • Step #9 Top with 1/2 of the sauce & 1/2 of the cheeses.
  • Step #10 Repeat layers.
  • Step #11 Bake approximately 50-55 mins or until golden & bubbly.
  • Step #12 Let stand out of oven for 5-10 mins before serving.
