Four Bean Chili Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 (15 oz) can black beans .
  • 1 medium onion, sliced .
  • 1/2 tsp salt .
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg .
  • 1 (14 1/2 oz) can sliced tomatoes .
  • 1 (15 oz) can pinto beans, drained .
  • 2 lbs ground beef .
  • 1/4 tsp fresh coarse ground black pepper .
  • 1 green pepper, sliced .
  • 1 (15 1/2 oz) can kidney beans, drained .
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced .
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon .
  • 1/4 c taco seasoning .
  • 2 tbsps Mrs Dash southwest chipotle seasoning mix .
  • 2 tbsps chili powder .
  • 1 (14 1/2 oz) can beef broth .
  • 1 (15 1/2 oz) can chili beans or red beans

Directions
  • Step #1 Brown beef with onions, garlic, green peppers, & taco seasoning until meat is cooked through & onions are clear.
  • Step #2 Place cooked beef mixture in crockpot.
  • Step #3 Add all canned items, ending with the broth.
  • Step #4 Add the spices & mix through lightly.
  • Step #5 Cover up & cook on low for 5-6 hrs.
  • Step #6 If not using a crockpot, place all in large Dutch oven, & let simmer for at least 1 hr over low heat/flame.
