Healthy Turkey Meatloaf Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tsps brown sugar .
  • 1 1/4 lbs extra lean ground turkey (99% fat free) .
  • 1 egg, beaten .
  • 2 green onions, sliced .
  • 2 tsps pepper .
  • Glaze .
  • 1 tbsp olive oil .
  • 1 c sliced onions .
  • 1 tsp ground sage .
  • 1 tbsp spicy brown mustard .
  • 2 garlic cloves, sliced .
  • 2 tsps salt .
  • Meatloaf .
  • 1/4 c white wine .
  • 3/4 c ketchup .
  • 1 tsp low sodium soy sauce .
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger .
  • 1/2 c Italian breadcrumbs

Directions
  • Step #1 Set oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Step #2 Line an ovenproof casserole or baking dish with foil wrap.
  • Step #3 Heat olive oil in medium-sized skillet.
  • Step #4 Add onion & cook over med-heat/flame until soft & translucent.
  • Step #5 Add garlic & cook for 1-2 mins Add white wine to pan & cook for 1 min Remove from heat.
  • Step #6 In a large bowl, place turkey, onion mixture & remaining meatloaf ingredients.
  • Step #7 Using clean hands, mix until ingredients are well mixd.
  • Step #8 Place meat mixture in casserole/baking dish & form into loaf form.
  • Step #9 In a small bowl, mix all glaze ingredients.
  • Step #10 Spread evenly over meatloaf.
  • Step #11 Place dish in heated oven & bake for 45 mins.
  • Step #12 Let meatloaf rest for 5-10 mins before serving.
