Double Chocolate Chunk Cookies Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c margarine or butter, slightly softened .
  • 1 tsp vanilla .
  • 1/2 c granulated sugar .
  • 1 c all-purpose flour .
  • 3/4 c sliced walnuts (optional) .
  • 1/4 tsp salt .
  • 1/4 c firmly packed brown sugar .
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder .
  • 8 bakers semi-sweet chocolate baking squares .
  • 1 egg

Directions
  • Step #1 Melt 1 square of chocolate in small microwave bowl on high 1-2 mins or until almost melted, stirring after each min.
  • Step #2 Stir until chocolate is completely melted.
  • Step #3 Cut 3 squares of chocolate into large chunks, set aside.
  • Step #4 Beat margarine, sugars, egg & vanilla until light & fluffy.
  • Step #5 Stir in 1 square of melted chocolate.
  • Step #6 Mix in flour, baking powder & salt.
  • Step #7 Stir in chocolate chunks & walnuts.
  • Step #8 Refrigerate for 30 mins.
  • Step #9 Heat oven to 375°F.
  • Step #10 Drop dough by tbspfuls, 2 inches apart onto greased cookie sheets.
  • Step #11 Bake for 8 mins or until lightly browned.
  • Step #12 Cool 5 mins on cookie sheets.
  • Step #13 Remove & finish cooling on wire racks.
  • Step #14 Melt remaining 4 squares of chocolate in small microwaveable bowl on high 1-2 mins or until almost melted, stirring after each min until chocolate is completely melted.
  • Step #15 Dip 1/2 of each cookie into melted chocolate.
  • Step #16 Let stand on waxed paper until chocolate is firm.
