Paula Deen's Easy Yeast Rolls Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 1/2 c biscuit mix, plus .
  • 1 tbsp sugar .
  • 1/4 c melted butter .
  • 3/4 c water water (98 to 105 degrees F) .
  • 1 (1/4 oz) package active dry yeast .
  • 1/2-1 c prepared biscuit mix

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 400F degrees F.
  • Step #2 Dissolve the yeast in the water.
  • Step #3 Put the 2 1/2 c of biscuit mix In a large-ish bowl; stir in the the sugar.
  • Step #4 Add the yeast mixture, stirring vigorously.
  • Step #5 Sprinkle top the work surface generously with the remaining 1/2 to 1 c biscuit mix.
  • Step #6 Turn the dough out onto the surface & knead well, 15 to 20 times.
  • Step #7 Shape the dough as desired.
  • Step #8 (I shape heaping tbsps of dough into balls).
  • Step #9 Place on a lightly greased baking sheet, cover with a damp cloth, & let rise in a warm place for 1 hr.
  • Step #10 Just before putting into oven, brush rolls with melted butter.
  • Step #11 Bake for 12 to 15 mins, or until golden brown.
  • Step #12 Brush the rolls again with melted butter while they're hot.
