Step #1 Grease & flour a 13x 9" baking pan.
Step #2 In large mixing bowl, mix oil & 1 1/2 c sugar.
Step #3 Add beaten eggs, cinnamon, salt, flour (no need to sift), applesauce, baking soda & cocoa & mix until well-mixed.
Step #4 Pour into pan & sprinkle with 1 1/2 T sugar, nuts (sliced walnuts or pecans) & 3/4 C chocolate chips.
Step #5 Bake at 350 dg.
Step #6 for 30-40 mins, until top springs back when touched, covering with foil wrap if top gets too brown.
