Korean Seared Beef Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/3 c soy sauce .
  • 2 tbsps granulated sugar .
  • 1/4 tsp pepper .
  • 2 tbsps dark sesame oil .
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced .
  • 5 garlic cloves, minced .
  • 2 (1/2 lb) inside round steaks (1 lb. total) or 4 (1/4 lb) fast fry eye-of- round steaks (1 lb. total) .
  • vegetable oil

Directions
  • Step #1 If steaks are large, cut in half.
  • Step #2 In a pie plate, stir soy with sugar,sesame oil,garlic,pepper & onions.
  • Step #3 Add steaks & turn evenly to coat.
  • Step #4 Marinate at about room temp for 15 mins, turning occasionlly.
  • Step #5 Lightly coat a large frying pan with oil & set over high heat.
  • Step #6 When hot,remove steaks from marinade & place this in pan.
  • Step #7 Cook until browned,2 mins per side.
  • Step #8 Reduce heat to medium if steaks start to burn.
  • Step #9 Pour marinade(including onions)over steaks.
  • Step #10 Cook until sauce is slightly thickened, turning steaks every once in awhile, 1 to 2 mins.
  • Step #11 Place on plates & pour the sauce overtop.
  • Step #12 Great with rice & stir-fryed bok choy or spinach.
