Power Oatmeal Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3/4 c dried cranberries .
  • 1 tsp cinnamon .
  • 1/2 c oat bran .
  • 1 c steel cut oats, long cooking .
  • 8 c water .
  • 1/2 c walnuts, sliced .
  • 1/2 c soy crumbles

Directions
  • Step #1 Bring the water to a boil in a sauce pot & slowly stir in the the steel cut oats.
  • Step #2 Boil for about 5 mins & turn the heat down to simmer.
  • Step #3 Don't cover the pot.
  • Step #4 Cook for 15 mins & then add the rest of the ingredients.
  • Step #5 Salt to taste (I don't use any).
  • Step #6 Bring the pot back to a simmer.
  • Step #7 Continue cooking for another 10 to 15 mins.
  • Step #8 Keep an eye on the pot, you may need to add a little more boiling water during the last few mins of cooking.
