Butter Chicken Balti Style Recipe

Ingredients
  • 5 green cardamom pods, split open .
  • 4 oz butter .
  • 3 lbs skinless chicken, & cubed .
  • 2 oz ground almonds .
  • 1 chicken stock cube .
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves .
  • 2 garlic cloves, sliced .
  • 1 tbsp oil .
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon .
  • 1 tsp garam masala .
  • 1/4 pint plain yogurt .
  • 1 1/2 tsps chili powder .
  • 5 tbsps fresh single cream .
  • 2 bay leaves, crushed .
  • 1 onion, sliced .
  • 14 oz tomatoes .
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated

Directions
  • Step #1 Mix together In a large-ish bowl the yogurt with the almonds, cardamoms, chilli, ginger, cloves, bay leaves, cinnamon, garam masala, garlic & the tomatoes.
  • Step #2 Add the chicken & allow to marinate for 30 mins.
  • Step #3 In a wok melt the butter with the oil & fry the onion for 2 mins Add the chicken & the marinade & cook for 10 mins.
  • Step #4 Add the cream & stir well to mix.
  • Step #5 Serve garnished with coriander leaves.
