Marinated, Fried Oysters Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 dash lemon juice .
  • cornmeal, to coat, mixed with flour .
  • 18-20 oysters, drained, no shell (1 lb) .
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder .
  • olive oil, to fry, & .
  • salt & pepper .
  • flour, to coat, & .
  • butter, to fry .
  • 1/2 c seafood cocktail sauce

Directions
  • Step #1 Place oysters in a dish & coat with cocktail sauce, chili powder, lemon juice & salt & pepper.
  • Step #2 Marinate at about room temp no more than 1/2 hr or put in the fridge 2 hors.
  • Step #3 Heat a skillet with oil & butter.
  • Step #4 Dust the Oysters in flour & cornmeal & fry, turing until golden brown.
  • Step #5 Drain & adjust seasoning, serve hot.
  • Step #6 Be gentle when turning so the coating doesnt fall off.
