Ingredients
1 tsp vanilla .
1 oz unsweetened chocolate, melted .
1/2 tsp salt .
1 tsp baking powder .
2/3 c shortening, soft .
1 c rolled oats .
1 c brown sugar .
1 1/3 c flour .
1 whole cashew .
1 egg .
semisweet chocolate pieces .
1 c crunchy peanut butter
Directions
Step #1 Mix flour, baking powder & salt.
Step #2 Set aside.
Step #3 Cream sugar & shortening.
Step #4 Stir in peanut butter, egg & vanilla.
Step #5 Stir in flour mixture.
Step #6 Mix in oats.
Step #7 Divide dough in half.
Step #8 Shape one half into & 8 inch long roll.
Step #9 Sir melted chocolate into the remaining half.
Step #10 Roll chocolate dough on waxed paper to an 8 inch square.
Step #11 Place 8 inch roll on chocolate dough.
Step #12 Wrap chocolate dough around it & pinch the seams together.
Step #13 Wrap it all in waxed paper.
Step #14 Chill for 1 1/2 hrs.
Step #15 Cut in 1/4 inch squares.
Step #16 Now make owls face.
Step #17 Pinch chocolate dough to form two ears.
Step #18 Use 2 chocolate chips for eyes & a cashew for the beak.
Step #19 Place on ungreased cooked sheet.
Step #20 Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 mins.
