Gingerbread Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tsps ginger .
  • 2 tsps cinnamon .
  • 3 1/2 c flour .
  • 1 c golden syrup .
  • 3/4 c sugar .
  • 1 c milk .
  • 2 eggs .
  • 1 1/2 tsps baking soda .
  • 1/2 c lukewarm water .
  • 4 oz butter

Directions
  • Step #1 Cream butter & sugar until light coloured.
  • Step #2 Add eggs & beat again.
  • Step #3 Heat golden syrup until thin, remove this from heat & add milk.
  • Step #4 Stir together.
  • Step #5 Sift together flour, ginger & cinnamon, & add them alternately with the liquid, to the creamed mixture.
  • Step #6 Dissolve baking soda in water & add, stir well.
  • Step #7 Bake in two lined loaf tins 160C for 1 1/4 hrs.
