Southern Fried Chicken Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 c flour .
  • peanut oil (for frying) .
  • 1/4 c chili sauce .
  • 3 chicken drumsticks .
  • 3 chicken thighs .
  • 1 1/2 c milk .
  • 2 eggs

Directions
  • Step #1 fill large skillet almost half full with oil.
  • Step #2 heat to 350 degrees.
  • Step #3 Spice up chicken with salt & pepper.
  • Step #4 mix milk, eggs, & chili sauce together in a shallow bowl.
  • Step #5 in a seperate bowl place flour.
  • Step #6 dip chicken in milk mixture coating all of the chicken.
  • Step #7 let excess mixture drip off chicken.
  • Step #8 dredge chicken in flour coating the whole piece.
  • Step #9 place chicken in heated oil dark meat first.
  • Step #10 turn chicken over to ensure even cooking.
  • Step #11 cook this untill golden brown & juices run clear.
  • Step #12 serve this with my roasted garlic mashed potatoes.
  • Step #13 Tips- Dont let chicken sit after coating it with flour because the coating will turn out soggy.
  • Step #14 Make sure you turn the chicken often to avoil burning.
  • Step #15 Your dark meat will take longer to cook than your white meat.
  • Step #16 When buying the chili sauce, look in the international foods isle.
  • Step #17 The chili sauce I prefer is on the japanese shelf.
  • Step #18 Carefull, that stuff is HOT.
