Season's Crock Pot Chicago Italian Beef Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tsp basil .
  • 3 c water .
  • 1 tsp onion salt .
  • 1 bay leaf .
  • 1 tsp black pepper, ground .
  • 5 lbs rump roast .
  • 1 (2/3 oz) package dried Italian salad dressing mix .
  • 1 green pepper, sliced (optional) .
  • 1 tsp garlic powder .
  • 1 tsp salt .
  • 1 tsp parsley .
  • 1 tsp oregano .
  • 3 beef bouillon cubes (optional)

Directions
  • Step #1 In a medium saucepan over med-heat/flame.
  • Step #2 Combine the salt, water, parsley, pepper, onion salt, basil, water, garlic powder, oregano, bay leaf & salad dressing mix.
  • Step #3 Stir well & bring just to a boil.
  • Step #4 Place roast in a slow cooker (aka crockpot) & pour mixture over the roast.
  • Step #5 cover & cook on low setting for 10-12 hrs or high for 4-5 hrs.
  • Step #6 Optional - Last 45 mins add bullion cubes & green pepper.
  • Step #7 Remove bay leaf & shred meat with a fork.
  • Step #8 Serve on Italian bread.
