Seared Sesame Tuna With Orange Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c water .
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour .
  • 1/2 tsp minced garlic .
  • 1 tbsp water .
  • 1/2 tsp salt, divided .
  • 2/3 c uncooked couscous .
  • 1/2 tsp minced ginger .
  • 4 (6 oz) bluefin tuna steaks (about 3/4-inch thick) .
  • 2 tsps cornstarch .
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper .
  • 1 tbsp honey .
  • 1/4 c sesame seeds .
  • 1 tbsp low sodium soy sauce .
  • 1/2 c fresh orange juice .
  • 1 tsp dark sesame oil

Directions
  • Step #1 Bring 1 c water & ¼ tsp salt to a boil in a saucepan; slowly stir in the couscous; remove this from heat, cover, & let this stand 5 mins; fluff with a fork.
  • Step #2 While the couscous stands, heat a large nonstick skillet coated with cooking spray over med-high heat.
  • Step #3 Combine ¼ tsp salt, flour, sesame seeds, & black pepper in a shallow dish.
  • Step #4 Dredge both sides of tuna steaks in sesame seed mixture.
  • Step #5 Add fish to pan & cook 4 mins on each side or until desired degree of doneness.
  • Step #6 Remove fish from pan & keep warm.
  • Step #7 While fish cooks, mix orange juice & the next 5 ingredients in a small saucepan; bring to a boil over med-high heat.
  • Step #8 Combine 1 tbsp water with cornstarch, stirring with a whisk until smooth.
  • Step #9 Add cornstarch mixture to the pan; cook 2 mins or until sauce is thickened, stirring often.
  • Step #10 Serve fish with couscous & sauce.
