Pepper Jack Cheese Sticks Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 c crushed corn flakes .
  • salsa, if desired .
  • guacamole, if desired .
  • 1 lb monterey jack pepper cheese .
  • 3 c flour .
  • oil, for deep-fat frying .
  • 3 eggs, beaten

Directions
  • Step #1 Cut cheese into 2 3/4-inch by 1/2-inch sticks.
  • Step #2 Place flour, eggs & cornflakes in three separate shallow bowls.
  • Step #3 Coat cheese sticks with flour, dip in egg, then roll in cornflakes until well coated.
  • Step #4 Let stand for 5 mins.
  • Step #5 In an electric skillet or deep-fat fryer, heat oil to 375 degrees.
  • Step #6 Cook cheese sticks in batches for 30 seconds or until golden brown.
  • Step #7 Drain on paper towels.
  • Step #8 Let stand for 3-5 mins.
  • Step #9 Serve with salsa & guacamole, if desired.
