Maple Pecan Apple Stuffed Brie Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tbsps maple syrup (other syrup or honey works well) .
  • 1 tbsp finely sliced toasted pecans or walnuts .
  • 1/2 small tart apple, finely sliced .
  • 1 (4 inch) brie round .
  • 2 tbsps butter, melted .
  • 4 sheets phyllo dough, thawed

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 400°F.
  • Step #2 Mix apple & pecans in bowl.
  • Step #3 Stir in maple syrup.
  • Step #4 Set aside.
  • Step #5 Brush 1 phyllo sheet lightly with melted butter.
  • Step #6 Top with remaining 3 phyllo sheets, brushing each layer with butter.
  • Step #7 Cut 10 inch circle from stack.
  • Step #8 Cut cheese wheel in half horizontally.
  • Step #9 Place 1 cheese half in centre of phyllo stack; top this with half of the apple mixture.
  • Step #10 Top with second cheese half & remaining apple-nut mixture.
  • Step #11 Wrap phyllo around cheese, folding phyllo as needed to completely enclose cheese.
  • Step #12 Brush with remaining butter.
  • Step #13 Place on baking sheet or pie plate.
  • Step #14 Bake 15 min or until golden brown.
  • Step #15 Serve as soon as possible with crackers or apple slices.
