Step #1 PREHEAT oven to 325º F & grease your baking sheet.
Step #2 MICROWAVE 2/3 c morsels in uncovered, microwave-safe bowl on HIGH (100%) power for 10 to 15 seconds; STIR.
Step #3 The morsels may retain some of their original shape; if necessary, microwave at extra 10- to 15-second intervals, stirring just until morsels are melted.
Step #4 COMBINE flour, baking powder & salt in small bowl.
Step #5 Beat sugar & butter in large bowl until light & fluffy; add eggs & almond extract; beat until mixd.
Step #6 Stir in melted chocolate; slowly stir in the flour mixture then stir in the slivered almonds & 1/2 c morsels.
Step #7 SHAPE dough with floured hands on prepared baking sheet into 12 x 3-inch log; round top.
Step #8 BAKE for 40 mins or until slightly firm to the touch & cracked on top; cool on baking sheet for 10 mins.
Step #9 Slide log onto cutting board & cut into 18 even slices then return to baking sheet cut side down.
Step #10 Bake for extra 10 to 15 mins or until firm.
Step #11 then remove to wire rack to cool completely.
Step #12 Place remaining chocolate morsels in small, heavy-duty plastic bag & microwave on HIGH (100%) power for 30 to 45 seconds; knead.
Step #13 Cut a tiny corner from bag & drizzle over cooled biscotti.
Step #14 Let stand until drizzle is set & store this in airtight container at about room temp.
