Golden Lemon Pound Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder .
  • 1/2 tsp salt .
  • 3/4 c buttermilk .
  • 4 eggs .
  • 2 tsps lemon juice .
  • Glaze Ingredients .
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda .
  • 2 c sugar .
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice .
  • 1 1/4 c powdered sugar .
  • 1 tbsp freshly grated lemon peel .
  • 3 c all-purpose flour .
  • 1-2 tbsp milk .
  • 1 c butter, softened .
  • Cake

Directions
  • Step #1 Heat oven to 325F degrees F.
  • Step #2 Combine sugar & butter in large bowl.
  • Step #3 Beat at medium speed until creamy.
  • Step #4 Continue beating, adding eggs one at a time, until well mixed.
  • Step #5 Reduce speed to low; slowly add flour, baking powder, baking soda & salt alternately with buttermilk until well mixed.
  • Step #6 Stir in lemon peel & 1 tbsp lemon juice.
  • Step #7 Spread batter into greased & floured 12-c Bundt pan.
  • Step #8 Bake for 55 to 65 mins or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • Step #9 Cool 10 mins; remove this from pan.
  • Step #10 Cool completely.
  • Step #11 Glaze:.
  • Step #12 Stir together powdered sugar, 2 tsps lemon juice & enough milk for desired glazing consistency in small bowl.
  • Step #13 Drizzle over cooled cake.
