Sweet And Sour Shrimp Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tbsps brown sugar .
  • 1 (14 oz) can pineapple chunks in juice .
  • 1/3 c soy sauce .
  • 2 tbsps vegetable oil .
  • 2 garlic cloves, sliced .
  • 2 tbsps red wine vinegar .
  • 1 green bell pepper, cut into cubes .
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne .
  • 2 tbsps cornstarch .
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar .
  • 5 tbsps water .
  • 1/2 large yellow onion, sliced .
  • 30 medium cooked shrimp

Directions
  • Step #1 Drain pineapple juice into a measuring c & set both juice & chunks aside.
  • Step #2 Heat oil in wok or large skillet over high heat.
  • Step #3 Saute onion, pepper & garlic for 5 mins.
  • Step #4 Combine soy sauce, brown sugar, pineapple juice, vinegar, granualted sugar, & cayenne In a large-ish measuring c.
  • Step #5 Mix well & pour over vegetables.
  • Step #6 Add pineapple chunks & shimp to wok & bring to a simmer.
  • Step #7 Combine cornstarch & water, then pour this into wok.
  • Step #8 Cook for a few more mins, stirring constantly until sauce thickens.
  • Step #9 Serve over rice or couscous.
