Easy Chocolate Truffles Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c chocolate sprinkles .
  • 1/2 c icing sugar .
  • 4 (1 oz) semi-sweet chocolate baking squares, finely sliced .
  • 1/2 c butter .
  • 2 tsps orange rind, grated .
  • 1/2 c cocoa .
  • 1 tbsp oil .
  • 4 tbsps orange liqueur (or whatever flavor you like) .
  • 8 (1 oz) semi-sweet chocolate baking squares, finely sliced .
  • 6 tbsps heavy cream

Directions
  • Step #1 In med saucepan, bring butter & cream to a boil over med-high heat.
  • Step #2 Remove from heat.
  • Step #3 Add chocolate, liquer & rind.
  • Step #4 Stir until melted & smooth.
  • Step #5 Pour truffle mixture into a shallow bowl.
  • Step #6 Chill for 2 hrs.
  • Step #7 Line 2 baking sheets with waxed paper.
  • Step #8 Shape rounded tspfuls of truffle into 24 small balls.
  • Step #9 Place truffles on prepared baking sheets.
  • Step #10 Chill 30 mins.
  • Step #11 Melt chocoalte & oil in a double boiler until smooth.
  • Step #12 Transfer chocolate into a bowl.
  • Step #13 Cool slightly.
  • Step #14 Using 2 forks, coat 3/4 of the truffles in chocolate, allowing excess coating to drip back into the bowl.
  • Step #15 Cover up 6 truffle in sprinkles.
  • Step #16 Sift icing sugar over 6 truffles.
  • Step #17 Leave 6 chocolate coated truffles plain.
  • Step #18 Coat remaining 6 truffles in cocoa.
  • Step #19 Chill 30 mins.
  • Step #20 Store in fridge for 10 days or in freezer for 3 months.
