Grandma Geldner's Pflaum (plum) Torte Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tsp cinnamon .
  • 1/2 c unsalted butter .
  • 2 eggs, beaten .
  • lemon juice, for sprinkling .
  • 1 pinch salt .
  • sugar, for sprinkling .
  • 1 c sugar .
  • 12 plums, halved & pitted .
  • 1 tsp baking powder .
  • 1 c flour

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Step #2 Cream butter & sugar; add eggs to mix.
  • Step #3 Mix well until uniform & add flour, baking powder & a pinch of salt.
  • Step #4 Mix well before spooning batter into a greased or oiled 9" spring form pan.
  • Step #5 Place plums on batter skin side up & sprinkle with sugar & lemon juice.
  • Step #6 Spread cinnamon over plums & bake for 1 hr.
  • Step #7 Cool to lukewarm & remove this from pan.
