Easy Wonton Soup Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4 c light soya sauce .
  • 4 green onions .
  • 5 oz wonton wrappers (about 70 per pkg) .
  • 3 (10 1/2 oz) cans chicken broth .
  • bok choy (optional) or sweet peas (optional) or shrimp, etc.. (optional) .
  • 2 large eggs .
  • 1 tsp seasoning salt .
  • 1/8 c water chestnuts (optional) .
  • 1/4 c brandy (optional) .
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder .
  • 1 lb ground pork

Directions
  • Step #1 Combine pork, garlic powder, seasoning salt, soya sauce, 2 green onions (finely sliced), & 1 egg in a bowl.
  • Step #2 (can add water chestnuts now too if you like).
  • Step #3 let this stand for 15 min, or until broth is ready.
  • Step #4 In a big pot, add 3 cans of broth with equal parts of water.
  • Step #5 Add the other 2 green onions.
  • Step #6 (If you want to add other veggies, now is t he time to do it)Bring to a boil, then turn down to low heat.
  • Step #7 Now put on a med.
  • Step #8 size pot of water with a pinch of salt in it, & bring it to a rapid boil.
  • Step #9 In a small bowl, seperate the the egg white (this is the part you want).
  • Step #10 Add a couple drops of water to the egg white.
  • Step #11 (this is going to seal the wonton covers).
  • Step #12 Seperate the wonton covers & place a few at a time on the counter.
  • Step #13 Place 1/2 tsp amounts of pork mixture in the middle of each wonton.
  • Step #14 Rub egg white along 2 of the covers edges.
  • Step #15 Fold corner to corner, then corner to corner again.
  • Step #16 Place in boiling water for about 2 1/2 min, or until the have floated for about 1 min Then place this in broth.
  • Step #17 Repeat until all wontons are made.
