Chocolate Filled Cream Puffs Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c heavy whipping cream
  • FILLING:
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 c all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 c confectioners' sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 c confectioners' sugar
  • 1 c water
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 (1 oz) square unsweetened chocolate
  • 6 tbsps butter
  • 2 tbsps water
  • GLAZE:
  • 2 tbsps baking cocoa

Directions
  • Step #1 In a saucepan over med-heat/flame, bring water & butter to a boil.
  • Step #2 Add flour & salt all at once; stir until a smooth ball forms.
  • Step #3 Remove from the heat; let this stand 5 mins.
  • Step #4 Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.
  • Step #5 Beat until smooth.
  • Step #6 Cover a baking sheet with foil; grease foil.
  • Step #7 Drop batter into six mounds onto foil.
  • Step #8 Bake at 400F degrees F for 15 mins.
  • Step #9 Reduce heat to 350 degrees F; bake 30 mins longer.
  • Step #10 Remove puffs to a wire rack.
  • Step #11 Immediately cut a slit in each for steam to escape.
  • Step #12 In a mixing bowl, beat cream until soft peaks form.
  • Step #13 Gradually add sugar & cocoa, beating until almost stiff.
  • Step #14 Split puffs & remove soft dough.
  • Step #15 Add filling; replace tops.
  • Step #16 Melt chocolate & butter; stir in the sugar & water.
  • Step #17 Drizzle over puffs.
  • Step #18 Chill.
