Sausage And Mushrooms With Pasta In Spicy Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
  • 14 oz healthy choice smoked sausage, sliced .
  • 4 oz fresh mushrooms, sliced .
  • 2 1/4 oz sliced black olives .
  • nutmeg .
  • red pepper flakes, to taste .
  • 12 oz barilla plus pasta, such as elbows .
  • 16 oz Ragu cheese sauce (Cheesy Parmesan & Mozzarella) .
  • 26 oz lovera's spaghetti sauce (25 calories per serving)

Directions
  • Step #1 Prepare pasta according to instructions on package.
  • Step #2 Saute mushrooms in non-stick skillet using Pam spray or equivalent.
  • Step #3 You'll probably have to do this in batches.
  • Step #4 Sprinkle top a tiny pinch of nutmeg on the mushrooms while cooking.
  • Step #5 In another skillet, concurrently saute the sausage slices until lightly browned on each side.
  • Step #6 Add each batch of mushroom & sausage to a large bowl until the other components are ready.
  • Step #7 Pour the sauces into a sauce pot, add the red pepper flakes, stirring often, & heat over med-heat/flame, until bubbling.
  • Step #8 Add the meat, mushrooms, & olives to the sauce.
  • Step #9 Stir frequently until bubbling again.
  • Step #10 Place drained pasta in pasta bowls, & ladle sauce over the top.
