Clam Chowder Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c onions, sliced .
  • 3/4 c butter .
  • 1 c celery, sliced .
  • 3/4 c flour .
  • pepper .
  • 1 quart half-and-half .
  • 2 c potatoes, sliced .
  • 1/2 tsp sugar .
  • 1 1/2 tsps salt .
  • 2 (6 1/2 oz) cans minced clams

Directions
  • Step #1 Put vegetables in saucepan & add water to cover.
  • Step #2 Drain clam juice into saucepan.
  • Step #3 Cook 20 mins or until potatoes are done.
  • Step #4 In a large pot melt butter.
  • Step #5 Add flour, sugar,half & half, salt, & pepper to taste.
  • Step #6 Cook on medium to medium high heat until thickened & smooth, stirring constantly.
  • Step #7 Add juice/water mixture & vegetables.
  • Step #8 Remove from heat & add clams.
  • Step #9 Serve.
