Basic Butter Cake & Butter Cream Frosting Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tbsps milk .
  • 125 g soft butter .
  • 1 tsp vanilla, essences .
  • Cake .
  • 240 g icing sugar .
  • 225 g self raising flour .
  • 165 g caster sugar .
  • 125 g soft butter .
  • Frosting .
  • 2 eggs .
  • 125 ml milk

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to moderate.
  • Step #2 Grease & line pan(s).
  • Step #3 Beat butter, vanilla & sugar in small bowl until light & fluffy; beat in eggs one at a time.
  • Step #4 Stir in flour & milk (in 2 batches).
  • Step #5 Spread into tin, & cook for approximately 25 - 35 mins (until skewer comes away clean).
  • Step #6 Let stand for 5 mins, then turn onto wire rack.
  • Step #7 Serves 6.
  • Step #8 FROSTING.
  • Step #9 Beat butter in small bowl until as white as possible, slowly beat in half the icing sugar, milk, then remaining icing sugar.
  • Step #10 Add flavoring & coloring as required.
